So, my last report ended with me on a rooftop overlooking the so called safehouse. Ryder finally arrived to watch my back and provide fire support if needed. Meanwhile Donut had arrived on scene as well, though I am not sure who called him in, Must have been Paladin, as she immediately had a short chat with him when she and Orunmilla arrived. Shortly after that I noticed 2 Lone Stars keeping an eye on the place as well, though one of them was probably Almighty’s.
An LAV appeared and landed next to tha safe house and 3 men got out. I suppose these were the men Zephyr would send. Almighty had the great idea of sending in his warhorse to provide some extra firepower in case we needed it. We probably would, and you can never be carefull enough. Orunmilla took out a datalink cable and connected himself with one of the guys, whilst Paladin chatted up the other one. The third one was just keeping an eye on things.
The scene was set, so we called in Almighty to drive in with Cloris. As soon as they rounded the corner though, the third guy opened fire at him, and the guy who was dealing with Orunmilla detached himself from the cable and threw a grenade at my position. Obviously Paladin must have betrayed us.
I took out the guy whom opened fire on Almighty and Donut took the guy dealing with orunmilla out. Almighty sped of on his bike and his warhorse opened fire on the last guy and the LAV. Clearly he understood that we could not allow that vehicle to leave the area. Instead of doing something to help us out, Paladin stayed in the LAV, clearly not intending to help us, I saw her reaching for the driving controls, so I had no chance but to take her out. I aimed at her left shoulder, and I am pretty sure I hit it, though afterwards she went down rather hard..
Next on my list was Orunmilla, I shouldn’t let him escape either. He did not participate in the fight but just ducked for cover. I took a shot at him but I must have missed or only grazed him. Next thing I know is Ryder pointing towards another LAV accompanied by 2 Raptor drones closing in on our position. They opened up with missiles on the warhorse I honestly don’t know how that withstood the impact but it seemed to be somewhat moving afterwards. Time for us to get out, I figured and as I got on my board to make a clean getaway, I saw a grenade sailing my way, I had to dive away from my board, tumbled off the rooftop and fell down. My falling training with Scott proved usefull as I didn;t hurt myself in the landing. My board got blasted to bits though..
